Nutrition and ADHD - 2020

It has been my experience that, as a generalization, the healthcare community has a nonchaulant approach toward nutrition and instead favors an expensive, prescription only approach to health.

The healthcare community often passes the buck to grocery stores and chooses to avoid almost any discussion as to food quality and water quality.

The healthcare community does not like to discuss what can be in prescription drugs at all.

Parts of the healthcare community choose not to discuss cheaper, non-prescription drugs which are available.

Parts of the healthcare community receive commissions/kickbacks for recommending certain prescription drugs to their customers.

Some members of the healthcare community (2020) are terrified to bring up the subject of nutrition due to possible political retaliation by special interests (my view).

X-ref:

- Special Interests
- Possible Conflicts of Interest
- Trade Guilds - Policies
- Etc.

There have been and still are are few very high profile healthcare people who publicly claim they are sincerely interested in better health for everyone yet if you look at their actions (actions speak louder than words), they tend to regularly promote only products which make them money and try to censor or muzzle all discussion of their products/what may be in their products or actual success rates vs the phony success rates they sometimes falsely promote.

The above is true for both for profit and non-profit healthcare providers.

For profit and non-profit does not always mean ethical.

Sorry if my view offends some readers.

Discussions can often be hidden/camouflaged under categories such as neurotoxicity.

Neurotoxicity occurs when the exposure to natural or manmade toxic substances (neurotoxicants) alters the normal activity of the nervous system. This can eventually disrupt or even kill neurons, key cells that transmit and process signals in the brain and other parts of the nervous system. Neurotoxicity can result from exposure to substances used in chemotherapy, radiation treatment, drug therapies, and organ transplants, as well as exposure to heavy metals such as lead and mercury, certain foods and food additives, pesticides, industrial and/or cleaning solvents, cosmetics, and some naturally occurring substances. Symptoms may appear immediately after exposure or be delayed. They may include limb weakness or numbness; loss of memory, vision, and/or intellect; headache; cognitive and behavioral problems; and sexual dysfunction. Individuals with certain disorders may be especially vulnera...

Improved ingredient labels helps give consumers informed choice.

Do food additives influence ADHD?

Try: the educational book, the How To (Temporarily) Cure Hyperactivity book (about Inattentive ADHD relief) (Wild). Caffeine works for some with ADHD; food additives in FDA approved medicines and foods need better ingredient labels. About 1 in 15,000 persons can be extremely sensitive to a few food additives which can affect their cognition for better or for worse. Food additives do not cause ADHD. A few food additives can affect things like: imagination, peripheral vision, energy levels, wakefulness/sleep, facial complexion, wound healing, etc. A few food additives act in a few people (not all people) as powerful, undisclosed drugs (and not inert, neutral substances). Most persons are not sensitive to common food additives at all; only a very, very small number of people are. With improved ingredient labeling, they can make better choices for themselves.

Is it normal for parents to not notice that their kid might have ADHD?

It’s common for parents to not notice their kid might have ADHD or a mild type of epilepsy (absence, etc.) or a very subtle hearing difficulty called CAPD/APD. Also, some parents are afraid of talking about the human brain, mind, neurology and perhaps believe that nothing can be done about it (which, in some cases, is true). Some parents will falsely declare it’s all an allergy or due simply to fluoride in the water. Attentional difficulties can be challenging to understand. Try educational books like: Remarkable Medicine book (Dreyfus), the How To (Temporarily) Cure Hyperactivity book (about Inattentive ADHD relief) (Wild), The Hyperactive Child book (Renshaw), etc. Many parents will choose to treat their child with respect realizing that treating the child as a normal human being is a good option. What's the most important thing to know about ADHD?

...

I need Adderall but haven't been diagnosed for it. I think I have ADHD but don't think they will prescribe it to me. What should I do?

Try educational books like Remarkable Medicine book (Dreyfus), the How To (Temporarily) Cure Hyperactivity book (about Inattentive ADHD relief) (Wild), The Hyperactive Child book (Renshaw), etc. There’s a difference between expecting a medicine to work and finding that the medicine actually works a little. It can take some persons weeks, months, even years to find an effective medicine. Medicines are not 100% cures, only partial answers. Medicines do not work for everyone.

What's a good way to describe a reaction to a food additive?

Can some food additives act in some people as powerful, undisclosed drugs vs inert ingredients?

Can some food additives affect cognition in some people?

Can some food additives act as unlabeled stimulants in some people?

Since some food additives can act as unlabeled stimulants in some people, should they be also labeled as drugs with limited uses which can be helpful to some of those who respond well to stimulants?

Why do some food additives in FDA approved medicines and foods need better ingredient labels?

Are some discussions of food additives hidden/camouflaged under the word:  neurotoxicity?
