In the early 1980s, it was my impression that there would be a noticeable change then in how Americans viewed the food supply along the lines of a marked change/swing toward better ingredient labeling and organic foods.
That did not happen in the 1980s.
That change (improved consumer awareness) happened in the 2010s.
