Some of the Ideas

and concepts discussed at:

Insights Into Attention Span, Memory Span, Sustained Attention, Neurology:

are not regularly discussed by some healthcare consultants due to a variety of reasons including reasons like:

- The Not Invented Here syndrome
- Conflicts of interest
- Trade guild politics
- Business pressures to meet customer count totals/required healthcare quotas
- Business pressures dictated by what healthcare insurances will quickly pay for
- Tendency to promote prescription only medicines including a real reluctance to discuss non-prescription medicines or to discuss anything that concerns the idea of nutrition/foods, etc.
- Etc.

...

Some readers would likely be a little shocked as to the actual cavelier attitudes of some high profile people in the healthcare industry who are/were viewed as spokespersons for good health yet whose actions resemble those of the current amoral Oval Office (2020) and celebrities like O.J. Simpson and Bill Cosby.

Some very high profile talk shows have falsely promoted guests who fell into the category of Simpson and Cosby based on the high ratings the shows could get (my view).  The talk shows were interested in ratings, not the truth or preservation of the truth.

Today, 2020, I often choose to avoid talking about aspects of the above.

X-ref:

- High profile phony guests on TV shows and popular magazines who falsely spread the lie/fib that all of autism is due to refrigerator mothers, etc.

- Some readers may not be aware of the fact that ADHD can be viewed differently by different countries in the world (2020) and there are major differences between the ICD (viewed as more reliable) and the DSM (viewed by some as being less reliable).

- There is a large difference between neurology (epilepsy, ADHD, narcolepsy, Parkinson's, etc.) and fields like psychology, psychiatry, and sociology.

Sorry if my view offends some readers.

News item

. . .

I drink 1-2 energy drinks a day. Every once in a while I go cold turkey off of them. Usually just have to take a few - cougarboard (08-15-2020)

(Google news)

Open Discussion - year 2020:

. . .

- There's a difference between a person with ADHD, epilepsy, or narcolepsy looking for a medicine to help a little vs a normal person choosing to use an energy drink on a daily basis.

One group is addressing real neurological challenges vs the other group which is looking to boost normal activity a little in a normal person.

Staying On Script

Caffeine works for some with ADHD;  food additives in FDA approved medicines and foods need better ingredient labels.

Good nutrition is important for everyone.
