Do I have ADHD? Symptoms vs Actual ADHD

Do I have ADHD? My friend who has it says I might. I researched it and a lot and it makes sense, but I get straight A’s and I go to an IB school. Most of the symptoms have affected me my entire life, I thought it was normal. You can ask me questions!

You have symptoms which are associated with ADHD; that is not identical to ADHD. How do you respond to stimulants (like coffee, caffeine, Ritalin,, Dexedrine, Adderall, Vyvanse)? Is your response to stimulants unusually positive, like opening a whole world up in terms of noticeably better concentration and memory? X-ref: Remarkable Medicine book (Dreyfus), the How To (Temporarily) Cure Hyperactivity book (about Inattentive ADHD relief) (Brothers), The Hyperactive Child book (Renshaw).

What are the differences in sluggish cognitive tempo vs. attention deficit  hyperactivity disorder (inattentive type)?

Why would my child need to take tests and provide records for an ADHD diagnosis?

What is the goal of using a medication to treat ADHD?

What is the goal of using a medication to treat epilepsy?

How can a pediatrician help my child with ADHD?

What kind of specialist should my child see for ADHD?

How can I help my child with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) get support at school?

Is it safe for me to use Ritalin, Adderall or Modafinil for my studies? Is it likely I get dependent in the process? Especially, if used long-term?

Will I have to try several medications before my child's ADHD symptoms disappear?

How will you know if treatment is working for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder?

Try: educational books like Remarkable Medicine book (Dreyfus), the How To (Temporarily) Cure Hyperactivity book (about proven Inattentive ADHD relief) (Wild), The Hyperactive Child book (Renshaw).

Which sports drink is better Powerade or Gatorade?

Between Gatorade and Red Bull, which is the one you'd find yourself reaching for most often and why?

Red Bull. Red Bull works for me for a number of hours to temporarily boost concentration and focus a little vs Gatorade which does not. I rarely use Red Bull. I view Gatorade as a kind of electrolyte replacer. I rarely use Gatorade. X-ref: sports drinks, energy drinks, etc.

Is a mind control chip possible?

Do ADHD medications cause side effects?

I cannot drink coffee, every time I try it my heart starts to beat faster. Should I practice to drink coffee as many people say coffee is good for life?

What was it like to go through life with undiagnosed ADHD?

What are the pros and cons of taking nootropics for ADHD?

Stimulants (coffee, caffeine, Ritalin, Dexedrine, Adderall, Vyvanse, etc.) do work for some with ADHD. The stimulants are available in known dosages and, for some, can be highly predictable and reliable. The stimulants are not 100% cures, only partial answers. Nootropics are a little different. Nootropics (cognitive enhancers) are promoted as being ways for everyone to think a little differently (as in better - higher, further, faster, etc.). People with ADHD, epilepsy, and narcolepsy use medicines as helpful crutches; nootropics are aimed at people who do not need crutches at all but are ambitious to try to gain an edge. Bottomline, nootropics are here to stay and grow in public awareness and use.

I’m in the army reserves and found out I have ADHD. I’ve currently taking meds. Will this get me discharged early?

Why does ADHD medication cost so much?

Why does epilepsy medication cost so much?

How does someone with Asperger's use their photographic memory to the fullest when they can't control it or know how it works?

How do I train my mind to think?

How long can the human brain remember something? What are the factors that affect the memory? If I study say, linear algebra for a semester and never/rarely use it again, how long can I expect to remember it?

What color is the awareness ribbon for brain injury?

What should parents do if they think their child has ADHD or autism?

What are the goals of behavioral therapy for ADHD?

Try: The Friends And People book by Dale Carnegie.

Are humans locked into their IQ and working memory and if so why?  If not what needs to change in the brain to enhance these?

Isn't it ironic that it is wrong for us to put a label on a person or group in society, but a doctor is able to label anyone with just about anything, if the situation calls for it?
