What did you think of the movie Altered States?

Altered States (1980) is a wonderful movie in some ways and a terrible movie in other ways. It’s better to focus (2020) on educational books like Remarkable Medicine (Dreyfus) and the How To (Temporarily) Cure Hyperactivity book (about proven, temporary Inattentive ADHD reduction)(Brothers, M.D.; x-ref: Renshaw, M.D.) than it is psychedelic altered states. Wonderful movies: Awakenings, Fight for Life, Inside Out, Limitless, 50 First Dates, etc. X-ref: neurology, attentional control challenges, etc. Altered States took the focus off of good medicines and put the wrong focus on tripping out chemicals/let’s have fun chemicals (LSD, etc.). Altered States raises important questions as to what is cognition, perception, etc. The questions are large and important. Unfortunately, the movie Altered States scared some amoral, ignorant politicians and some ignorant people in the healthcare industry to try to murder all discussion of party drugs and nootropics because the area, to them, was so new. Research was slowed almost to nothing. Research today (2020) has been slightly reawakened. X-ref: Energy drinks, sports drinks, functional drinks, nootropic drinks, medicines which work for some with ADHD, epilepsy, narcolepsy, etc.
